Frequently Asked Questions
Common questions about HoneyGroveMC answered clearly and honestly.
No. Absolutely not.
You cannot buy gameplay advantages on HoneyGroveMC. No premium kits, no purchasable items, no boosted rates, no shortcuts. Every player progresses through the same systems using the same methods.
If we ever offer optional supporter perks in the future (cosmetics, titles, etc.), they will be purely cosmetic with zero gameplay impact.
No. PvP is optional and zone-based.
Most of the world is PvP-disabled. You can build, explore, and play in peace without worrying about being killed. Your builds and storage are safe.
For players who want combat, we have designated PvP zones where fighting is allowed. These zones typically have higher-value resources or special events to reward the risk.
No mods required. This is a vanilla-compatible server.
HoneyGroveMC uses server-side plugins to add custom items, mobs, crafting, and progression. You join with a completely vanilla Minecraft client — no downloads, no mod loaders, no setup.
Optional quality-of-life mods are allowed (minimap, inventory tweaks, shaders, etc.), but they're not required.
It's as hard as you want it to be.
The core survival experience is standard Minecraft difficulty. If you can play vanilla survival, you can play here. Custom mobs and progression systems add optional challenge for players who want more depth.
Progression is designed to be rewarding, not tedious. We don't believe in artificial grinds or time gates. If something feels unreasonably grindy, that's a design flaw we want to fix.
Dedicated players: Deep progression systems offer long-term goals and mastery.
Yes. New players are welcome.
You don't need to be a Minecraft expert to enjoy HoneyGroveMC. If you understand basic survival mechanics (mining, crafting, building), you're ready to play.
Custom systems are introduced gradually and are entirely optional. You can start with simple vanilla survival and explore deeper systems when you're ready.
The community is helpful, and our Discord has guides for new players. Staff and experienced players are happy to answer questions.
HoneyGroveMC is a new server with a long-term vision.
We launched recently, which means you're joining at the beginning of something permanent. The world is fresh, the community is forming, and there's tons of room to make your mark.
While we're new, our systems are designed for permanence. We're not experimenting to see if this works — we're committed to building a server that lasts years.
The world has a border, but it's large and will expand as needed.
We start with a reasonable world size to encourage community formation while still giving plenty of space to explore and build. As the player base grows and the world gets explored, we'll expand the border.
The goal is balance: big enough that you can find a spot you love, but not so massive that the community is spread too thin.
There is a player-driven economy.
Players can trade, create shops, and exchange resources. We don't have a server-run admin shop that provides infinite items — everything is player-sourced.
This keeps the economy meaningful and prevents inflation. Resources have value because they require real effort to obtain.
No. Play at your own pace.
HoneyGroveMC respects your time. There are no daily login rewards that punish you for missing a day. No limited-time content that disappears if you don't grind it immediately. No decay mechanics that penalize inactivity.
Whether you play 2 hours a week or 20, your progress is permanent and your builds stay safe.
Report it in Discord or contact staff in-game.
We actively fix bugs and improve systems based on player feedback. If something feels broken, unbalanced, or unfair, let us know. We want the server to work well for everyone.
If you find an exploit, please report it instead of abusing it. Players who report bugs are rewarded. Players who abuse them are banned.
